Job summary

Leidos’ Defense Systems Mechanical Design & Analysis Department in Huntsville, Alabama seeks a mechanical design engineer to lead an Integrated Product Team (IPT) for the Low Band Surveillance radar program. You will direct technical work, align cost/schedule/technical performance, and drive risk management to ensure on-time, on-budget deliverables.

Preferred candidates bring an ABET-accredited engineering degree, 12+ years of experience or 10+ with an MS, and proficiency in SolidWorks.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 12+ years of applicable experience or 10+ years with MS degree.
  • Experience leading a team of engineers to develop solutions that meet technical, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Strong SolidWorks user.
  • Active secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Own overall execution performance for the IPT scope.
  • Lead cost, schedule, and technical performance alignment for the hardware team.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver on program objectives.
  • Drive disciplined execution and proactive risk management across the IPT.
  • Represent the IPT in governance forums and lead design reviews.
  • Maintain compliance with contractual requirements and internal governance standards.
