Job summary

Leidos’ Defense Systems Mechanical Design & Analysis Department in Huntsville, AL seeks a Mobile Radar Mechanical Design Engineer to design the ALPS-M sensor hardware and enclosure concepts. You will use SolidWorks and Windchill daily to turn ideas into manufacturable hardware and collaborate with production, testing, and systems teams.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• 4+ years of applicable experience or 2+ years with MS degree; mid to senior level.
• Strong SolidWorks user with ability to generate technical drawings per ASME Y14.100/Y14.5.
• Basic understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to work independently and in teams.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Active DoD security clearance or eligibility to obtain and maintain clearance.

Responsibilities

• Structural and enclosure design via SolidWorks CAD, drawing generation per ASME Y14.100 & Y14.5, and creating MIL-STD-31000 data packages.
