Job summary

MercyOne Waukee Urgent Care Clinic is opening in August and seeks a radiology technologist to join our fast-paced team. You will perform radiology tests and procedures for patients of all ages, under the direction of a clinic provider, while prioritizing accuracy and patient safety.

The role requires Iowa radiologic permit, AMA-approved two-year radiologic technology program, AART certification, and BLS; rotating 12-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, with every-other weekend.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of radiologic theory and techniques.
• Completion of AMA approved two-year radiologic technology program.
• AART certification and BLS for Healthcare Provider.
• Clinic/physician office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and assess urgent/emergency needs of patients and initiate appropriate emergency procedures.
• Organize and manage the electronic medical record (EMR) per clinic procedures.
• Apply radiology skills under physician direction for patient care in a clinic setting.
• Perform routine and skilled radiology tests and procedures for patients of all ages.

• Demonstrate the ability to recognize and assess urgent/emergency needs of patients and initiating appropriate emergency procedures as needed
• Follow clinic procedure/protocol for the organization and management of the electronic medical record (i.e. test results, retrieval, filing, creation, repair, charging of electronic medical record)
• Apply specialized radiology skills under the direction of a clinic provider in the care and treatment of patients in a clinic setting
• Perform a variety of routine and skilled radiology tests, diagnostic tests, or procedures to patients of all ages.

Requirements

• Must maintain State of Iowa permit to practice Radiology.
• Knowledge of Radiolgraphic theory and techniques, clinic policies and procedures and principles of anatomy.
• Work requires extensive technical or specialized training such as would be acquired in a college or technical school (i.e. completion of AMA approved two year training program in radiologic technology and AART certified).
• Clinic/Physician office experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
