Job summary

FUNDACIO INSTITU DE RECERCA EN ENERGIA DE CATALUNYA is seeking a senior postdoctoral researcher (R2 level) to support the final development and integration of advanced modelling, control optimisation tools and business models for smart energy systems and distributed energy resources.

The role offers autonomy and responsibility and is ideal for consolidating postdoctoral experience and growing toward scientific leadership.

Qualifications

• Hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering or similar, oriented in Energy Systems.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in energy system modelling and/or control.
• Excellent knowledge of Python.
• Spoken and writing capabilities in Spanish, Catalan and English.
• Participation as author in scientific papers related to the topic.
• Conferences participation in related topics.
• Experience coordinating or technically leading R&D tasks within national or European projects.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the final development and validation of business models focused on energy storage systems management and operation.
• Support the integration of energy management algorithms into a commercial platform, including energy communities, storage systems and flexibility.
• Guide junior researchers or engineers, supporting their work and contributing to the technical coherence of the project.
• Support dissemination activities related to the projects (scientific papers, conference participation).
• Prepare Curriculum Vitae detailing degrees and relevant experience.
• Submit a motivation letter.

Description: The Energy Systems Analytics research department is seeking a senior postdoctoral researcher(R2level)togivesupportthefinaldevelopmentandintegrationphase ofadvancedmodelling, control optimization tools and business models for smart energy systems and distributed energy resources. The selected candidate will be responsible for the consolidation and refinement of advanced modelling and optimization tools, ensuring their robustness and readiness for real-world application in the national projects.

The position offers a high degree of autonomy and responsibility and is ideal for candidates aiming to consolidate their postdoctoral experience and grow towards scientific leadership roles.

Key responsibilities:
