Job summary

Malarkey Roofing Products is seeking an R&D Technician to support the Research and Development lab in Portland, OR. You will perform material testing, assist with plant trials, and help with data generation and documentation under limited supervision.

The role requires 1–3 years of manufacturing or lab experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. You will wear PPE and work across lab, office, and production spaces.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 1–3 years of manufacturing or lab experience.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility in scheduling including outside normal hours.
• Must be able to lift up to 65 pounds and handle materials up to 400°F.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing for R&D lab with limited supervision, including raw and finished materials.
• Assist quality technicians with training and root cause analysis, plant trials, and lab maintenance.
• Generate data and reports from plant trials for technical review.
• Maintain safe, clean lab environment and proper PPE usage.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and research staff to validate new processes.
