Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking R&D Engineers within the Engineering and Technology Maturation (ETM) program to provide technical leadership for ETM at LANL and the broader DOE community. The role focuses on developing, maturing, and integrating technologies for the future nuclear deterrent, and involves leading multidisciplinary teams and interfacing with DoD/NNSA sponsors.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge and expertise in nuclear weapon design, science, and engineering evidenced by programmatic contributions, publications, or peer recognition.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering and integration activities with demonstrated success in performing and leading complex scientific endeavors.
• Demonstrated experience in leadership and management of technical programs, including planning, advocacy, resource allocation, execution, tracking and customer interactions.

Responsibilities

• Lead system integration efforts for flight testing and joint integrated experiments.
• Evaluate weapons effects based on specific mission profiles and advise DoD/NNSA sponsors on future system development.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and program managers to develop and execute integrated program plans.

Education

Master's Degree in Engineering

PhD (preferred)
