Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) invites external candidates for R&D Engineer 2 or 3 in Los Alamos, NM. The role focuses on developing, improving and supporting inspection processes, including fixtures and programs to meet quality standards, with higher responsibilities at the senior level.

Work involves applying Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Maintenance, and Safety/Quality programs while leveraging multidisciplinary research for national security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution and 4 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering and 6 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• DOE 426.2A requirements: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related science, 2 years job-related experience, and 1 year nuclear experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, improve, and support inspection processes and fixtures to meet quality standards.
• Lead and execute inspection development and operations with minimal direction; apply 3-D design and modeling capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with Conduct of Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Quality and Safety Management programs.
