Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking an R&D Engineering Technician to turn CAD drawings into test-ready hardware. You will fabricate prototypes, assist with instrumentation, harnesses, and data acquisition, and collaborate with engineers to ensure safety and design authority.

You will review manufacturability, coordinate with external shops, and maintain accurate records while escalating constraints early to keep the prototype pipeline on track.

Competenze

• 4+ years of hands-on prototype machining, fabrication, toolroom, or high-mix hardware experience.
• Ability to turn CAD drawings into finished parts using mills, lathes, CNCs, hand tools.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, GD&T, tolerances, materials, and inspection requirements.
• Experience coordinating internal or external machine shops and resolving technical questions while preserving engineering approval boundaries.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

• Machine and fabricate prototype parts from approved CAD, drawings and direction using mills, lathes, CNC equipment, hand tools and fixtures.
• Provide feedback on manufacturability, tolerances, materials, tooling, access, inspection and safer fabrication approaches.
• Create purchase requests, coordinate orders, and work with machine shops to schedule work and ensure quality.
• Set up and troubleshoot instrumentation, sensors, data-acquisition systems for development testing.
• Build and troubleshoot cables, harnesses, connectors, and electromechanical assemblies.
• Prepare and execute tests in partnership with engineering, test, range and safety teams.
• Maintain build, inspection, supplier and test records; document discrepancies and feedback.
• Handle controlled materials and operate equipment within qualifications; escalate when needed.
• Manage ad hoc requests and competing priorities with clear communication.
