Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Prototype Manufacturing Engineer to lead first builds for AD&S hardware, from incomplete inputs to MVP instructions and BOMs. You will bridge design intent and shop-floor reality, producing buildable processes and feedback for producibility improvements across programs.

The role requires hands-on experience with mechanical fabrication, welding, CNC, sheet metal, and tooling development, with a focus on rapid, robust prototypes and eventual ramp to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Manufacturing or related field.
• 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, prototype or NPI with hands-on hardware builds.
• Experience executing first builds with incomplete design inputs.
• Ability to read drawings, interpret GD&T, and work from 3D models.
• Experience writing work instructions or process documentation.

Responsibilities

• Execute first builds of mechanical, structural, thermal, and fluid hardware across AD&S programs.
• Develop MVP work instructions and identify tooling needs for repeatable builds.
• Establish preliminary BOM structures (Make/Buy decisions).
• Provide design feedback on buildability and inspectability.
• Document lessons learned for DFx, DFM/DFA, and production ramp.
