Job summary

ABB is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the development of critical power equipment in a hybrid role based in Richmond, VA. You will design, test, document and release mechanical components, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and cost targets.

You will participate in design reviews, support prototype fabrication, and drive design improvements to reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Contribute to mechanical design deliverables for new or enhanced critical power equipment models.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to meet customer expectations and project requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and verification, provide feedback and modifications.
• Design and release mechanical prototypes and support fabrication and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead product design improvement opportunities to reduce costs.
• Assist in converting conceptual designs into engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with production, supply chain and service to meet business needs.
