The Sherwin‑Williams Company invites motivated candidates to join its R&D Leadership Development Program in Minneapolis, MN, starting January 2027. This 8–12 month program provides a deep-dive into paint and coatings chemistry, testing, and project management while placing you on a Chemist track upon completion.

Relocation may be required for the program and post-program opportunities. Applicants should have a science/engineering degree, 3.0+ GPA, and US work eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or technical field by program start.
• Minimum GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Previous experience in a laboratory environment.
• Open to relocation during and after the program.
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
• At least one year of experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to retrieve materials and lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally.
• Knowledge of paint and coatings chemistry.
• Experience testing methods and quality control using statistics software.
• Understanding of commercialization, product, industry and segment.
• Experience in project management.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to R&D projects within the Performance Coatings Group.
• Develop skills and experience leading toward Chemist track placement.
• Relocate during/after program as needed by the business.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Technical Services to drive innovation.
