Job summary

Sherwin-Williams seeks motivated individuals for its R&D Leadership Development Program designed to develop skills for the Chemist track within the Performance Coatings Group. The 8–12 month program provides a deep-dive into Research & Development with exposure to one assignment leading to post-program placement.

Starting January 2027 at our Bowling Green Plant supporting the Coil Coatings Division within the Performance Coatings Group.

Qualifications

Must have Bachelor’s degree in science or technical field with start of program.
Minimum GPA: 3.0 on 4.0 scale.
At least 1 year of experience in a lab environment.
Must be open to relocation for the program and future positions.
Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in future.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

Knowledge of paint and coatings chemistry and formulation.
Experience testing methods and quality control using statistics software.
Understand commercialization, product, industry and segment.
Expertise in project management and reporting results and findings.
Build relationships with supply chain and gain knowledge of plant operations.
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Technical Services to execute innovation strategy.
Work alongside senior chemists.
