Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb in Princeton, NJ seeks an Associate Director, R&D IT Portfolio Delivery Lead to guide the delivery and governance of the R&D IT project portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and optimal resource use.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, risks, and dependencies, and champion agile, waterfall, and hybrid methodologies to drive value realization and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS/Business; advanced degree preferred.
8+ years IT project management experience, 3+ years portfolio/program mgmt.
Strong knowledge of pharma regulations (GxP, FDA, GDPR) and Agile scaling.

Responsibilities

Lead management and delivery of the R&D IT project portfolio aligned to the Book of Work (BOW).
Partner with IT Leadership, Product Managers, and stakeholders for collaboration.
Serve as primary contact for portfolio updates and translate technical info to business insights.
Manage budgets and expenditures for investment and run operations.
Oversee project planning, execution, monitoring, closure; ensure scope/time/budget.
Monitor portfolio risks, issues, dependencies; escalate as needed.
Promote Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies; define scope, budget, timeline, success criteria.
Coach project managers to enable delivery excellence and risk mitigation.
Track OKRs and KPIs; provide status updates to R&D IT leadership.
Foster continuous improvement via lessons learned.
