Job summary

The Boston Beer Company is seeking a motivated Co-op to join our Research & Development Brewery team at the Jamaica Plain, MA site. You’ll support brewing operations, sanitation programs, and innovation projects in a pilot-scale environment, gaining hands-on experience from concept to execution.

During the 6-month program (Jan 4, 2027 – Jun 25, 2027) you will work with brewing and quality professionals, develop practical skills, and contribute to process improvements and documentation updates.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Brewing Science, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Must continue to be enrolled in school upon completion of the co-op.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Understanding of brewery safety practices, PPE usage, equipment management, and chemical handling.
• Familiarity with GMPs and brewery sanitation principles.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to a safe, organized workplace.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily R&D brewery operations, supporting brewing, fermentation, and production.
• Package samples and finished products for evaluation, testing, and internal review.
• Support brewing and innovation projects through routine operational activities and project work.
• Collect, compile, and organize operational and project-related data.
• Assist with brewing documentation and technical procedure updates.
