Job summary

The Boston Beer Company is seeking a motivated Co-op to join the Brewing and Quality team at our Boston Brewery in Jamaica Plain. You will support quality testing, brewing operations, and production activities during a 6-month, on-site program running January 4, 2027, through June 25, 2027.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in fermentation science, QA, and production support, working closely with the R&D QA Manager, Quality Technologist, and Head Brewer.

Qualifications

• 21+ years old requirement.
• Enrolled in a degree program in a relevant field.
• Co-op experience or coursework with wet lab techniques.
• Must remain enrolled after the co-op.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Able to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Follow SOPs, GMPs and safety requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily quality testing including cell counts, fermentation tracking, and chemical analysis.
• Collect production samples and maintain QA records and data.
• Assist with data entry and reporting to support QA and continuous improvement.
• Maintain lab organization and readiness for daily operations.
• Support brewing operations, including cleaning and sanitizing tanks and equipment.
• Assist with packaging activities and cross-functional collaboration.
