Job summary

Graybar is seeking a Coordinator in the Quotations Department to assist in costing, quoting, pricing, and technical information for customer specifications. You will research products and capabilities, prepare quotes, and help ensure profitability and repeat business.

The role requires collaboration with factories and sales teams, strong math and negotiation skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Shift is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience required. Experience at the discretion of the hiring manager.
• Experience in sales, negotiations, pricing, and relationship building preferred (2+ years).
• Knowledge of multiple product lines and pricing strategies to generate profitable quotations.
• Familiarity with SAP programs used to support Quotations process.
• Understanding of logistics strategies and cost analysis.
• Strong mathematical, organizational, and time-management abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work with people at all levels and project a professional image.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates of materials for internal and external customers and itemize tools or equipment to be purchased from outside sources.
• Consult with factories to obtain best-cost information and audit manufacturers' bills of material.
• Research customer requirements and performance standards to determine product specifications and alternatives.
• Analyze competitors' products and services to identify strategic opportunities to compete effectively.
• Submit accurate technical quotations under tight deadlines based on customer specifications.
• Support the change order process and job lot billing in some branches.
• Distribute quotes to sales teams and assist with take-offs required by sales staff.
• Support promotional opportunities and corporate initiatives; maintain knowledge through training and networking.
