Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking an experienced Quarry Operations Lead in Maryland to manage daily quarry activities, supervise crews, and uphold safety and efficiency in a heavy industrial setting.

You will collaborate with maintenance and planning teams, ensure MSHA compliance, and drive continuous improvement using production data and OT systems. A strong leader with experience in surface mining and limestone is preferred.

Qualifications

• Surface mining or quarry experience required; hard-rock or limestone mining preferred.
• 2+ years frontline leadership experience including daily operations and leading crews.
• MSHA requirements knowledge, drilling and blasting operations.
• Union environment experience preferred.
• Experience with crushing operations and coordinating crusher/conveyor maintenance preferred.
• Familiarity with SAP, AutoCAD and drone mapping tech preferred; FAA drone certification willingness.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily quarry operations including extraction, loading, hauling, crushing, processing, stockpiling, and material movement.
• Supervise and develop quarry employees, coordinate daily assignments, resolve issues, and promote accountability and consistency across the team.
• Ensure MSHA, environmental and company safety requirements are followed and promote a strong safety culture.
• Monitor production, equipment performance, material quality, and operating conditions to meet production goals and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with maintenance on crusher, conveyor/beltline, and mobile equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Support quarry planning, pit development, inventory management, and continuous improvement using production data and OT.
