Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking an experienced Assistant Plant Manager to direct daily quarry operations, drive safety and efficiency, and partner with the Plant Manager to meet production goals of about 7 million tons per year.

This leadership role emphasizes coaching supervisors, optimizing performance, and controlling costs, while ensuring compliance and a strong safety culture in a high-volume industrial setting. Relocation or travel may be required to support company-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale aggregate/mining/quarry operations with a strong safety focus.
• Proven capability to develop teams, drive accountability, and sustain engagement and process improvements.
• Experience managing production performance, budgets, costs, and productivity initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily quarry operations to achieve safety, production, quality, and cost targets.
• Coach and develop supervisors and frontline employees to build a high-performing workforce.
• Monitor metrics and implement process improvements to boost plant efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, and company standards while promoting safety culture.
• Collaborate with maintenance, sales, logistics, and operations to optimize production planning and customer service.
