Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America seeks an Assistant Plant Manager for Aggregates to lead day-to-day quarry and plant operations, ensuring safety, quality, and cost targets in a high-volume facility.

You will drive process improvements across crushing, screening, and material handling while coordinating with maintenance to maximize uptime and reliability, and you’ll develop a high-performing team committed to safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in quarry, aggregates, mining, or heavy industrial operations.
• Experience leading high-volume production with safety focus.
• Ability to apply MSHA requirements and safety standards daily.
• Proven leadership, coaching, and accountability.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day quarry and plant operations to safely achieve production, quality, and cost objectives.
• Champion a strong safety culture and ensure MSHA compliance and safe work practices.
• Optimize crushing, screening, conveying, stockpiling, loadout, and material handling to improve throughput and efficiency.
• Partner with maintenance to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Lead, coach, and develop staff while coordinating staffing and production activities.
