Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Quarry Assistant Plant Manager to lead day-to-day quarry and plant operations for a high-volume site producing about 1.5 million tons annually. You will optimize processing steps, drive safety culture, and collaborate with maintenance to maximize reliability and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in quarry or heavy industrial environments, a bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field, and strong leadership, safety, and cost-management

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in quarry, aggregates, mining, or heavy industrial operations.
• Strong knowledge of aggregate production processes and safety practices.
• Experience applying MSHA requirements and environmental standards.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop frontline employees.
• Excellent communication and cost-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day quarry and plant operations to meet safety, production, quality, and cost objectives.
• Optimize crushing, screening, conveying, stockpiling, and loadout for throughput and efficiency.
• Coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Coach and develop team members to build a high-performing, accountable workforce.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations in daily operations.
