Job summary

Google LLC Santa Barbara, CA, USA is seeking a Fabrication Equipment Engineer for Quantum AI to maintain and advance critical semiconductor fabrication tools used in quantum device production.

You will lead preventive maintenance, installations, upgrades, and collaborate with process engineers to optimize equipment reliability and performance across sites, while ensuring safety and compliance in a cleanroom environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related technical field.
• 5+ years maintaining and repairing semiconductor fabrication equipment.
• 5+ years experience with photolithography, vacuum/plasma tools, or packaging equipment (e.g., wire bonders).
• Ability to work in a cleanroom wearing full PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure maximum uptime of fabrication tools.
• Lead scoping, evaluation, and procurement of new process equipment for quantum manufacturing and drive tool qualification.
• Manage equipment installations, retrofits, and upgrades with external vendors for project execution.
• Support operations across multiple local facilities, maintaining equipment standards and seamless workflows.
• Analyze tool reliability data to optimize maintenance schedules and support process engineering.
