Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Pasadena, CA is seeking an Equipment Engineer to keep complex semiconductor fabrication and characterization equipment running at peak performance.

You will troubleshoot issues, perform preventative maintenance and calibrations, and coordinate with vendors for installations and repairs. You will lead equipment health initiatives and develop procedures to maximize tool uptime, working closely with scientists and process engineers in a lab-focused,

Qualifications

• Strong root cause analysis and problem solving skills.
• 4+ years experience in root cause analysis and process design.
• PMP certification or 5+ years predictive and preventative maintenance experience.
• Experience with a CMMS.
• Experience in development in last 3 years or hardware troubleshooting.
• Ability to read/modify mechanical/electrical drawings; robotics, controls, automation.
• 5+ years in Semiconductor Equipment Engineering in one module (Photo lithography, Deposition, Etch, etc).
• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Equipment Qualification experience.
• Proficiency troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, vacuum, and automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots problems related to equipment and lab infrastructure and documents solutions.
• Collaborates with field service engineers for service calls and supervises their work.
• Improves equipment up-time through PM plans, calibrations, and equipment health initiatives.
• Assists with hardware modifications and lab upgrades.
• Owns equipment and lab spaces to ensure reliable performance.
