Job Overview:
Ingersoll Rand is hiring a Quality Engineer Technician in the Sheboygan, WI facility. The position works closely with the engineering team and production in a light manufacturing, machining and assemblyenvironment to ensure a quality product. The Quality Engineer Technician will implement quality system requirements, review and recommend updates to products and processes and lead corrective action and continuous improvement activities in collaboration with the company’s quality vision and strategy. As Quality Engineer Technician, you will also investigate customer complaints and process nonconformities. Qualified candidates will have a minimum associate’s degree in engineering and knowledge of quality systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Quality: Handles internal and external quality issues and drives timely and effective corrective actions. Implements, maintains, and audits company quality systems. Participates in ISO 9001 Audits. Maintains and continually improves the quality system with all departmental procedures supporting and maintaining ISO certification. Supervises, tests compliance of all materials and services. Analyzes defects in process, procedures, materials and products and recommends corrective measures to maintain quality standards. Able to use 8D, fishbone, 5-Why, PFMEA and other statistical tools as needed.
  • Inspection: Responsible for inspection of finished pumps or machined parts when performing root cause investigation into defects. Needs working knowledge of GD&T and able to read part drawings. Utilizes performance, test and inspection data to investigate causes for product nonconformance and field problems and plays an active role in problem resolution. Versed in gauge calibration requirements and CMM inspection a plus.
  • Training: Participates in training programs for employees as needed. Evaluate training needs for assemblyprocesses. Continuously improves and streamlines the process, developing human resources through formal and informal training such as cross training, participation in Kaizen events and classroom training.
  • Customer Specs: Interfaces with customer service and engineering to assist in design and contract reviews to ensure customer quality requirements are understood and incorporated. Interact with Sales/Customers for root cause corrective actions and occasional customer audits.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned or required.


Responsibilities:

  • Inbound Leads: First responder for leads received through the website. Will qualify lead and either pursue an order or hand-off the lead proactively to the appropriate colleague based on standard work in place
  • Outbound Sales Calls: Promotes the sale of company products through the Sales Representative / Authorized Service Center network, direct to customers, and other channels as appropriate. Uses technical knowledge to support and build sales. Identifies, develops and maintains direct sales to end users.
  • Makes calls on drifted accounts and other targeted campaigns
  • Website Product Support: First responder for website chat functionality.
  • Quote Follow-up: Make outbound calls to follow-up on open opportunities and quotations, to push for closure or other information needed to advance the opportunity
  • Prospect Contacts (Cold Leads): Make outbound calls to cold leads collected through website, webinars or other means
  • Technical Sales: Utilizes technical knowledge to assess the potential application of company products, offering solutions that meet customer needs. Researches and presents information showing potential customers the cost benefit of utilizing GDI products
  • Sales Documentation: Will maintain thorough records of interactions with customers via phone, e-mail and other means in the Salesforce.com system and also maintain strong communication with other departments associated with these sales activities.
  • Funnel (Pipeline) Management: Will manage the funnel of opportunities and quotations created in a disciplined manner to ensure maximum win rate from efforts put forth
  • Forecasts/Budgets/Targets: Gives input to forecasts & budgets and is required to meet order entry budget targets. Will be expected to meet targets related to speed of response on leads received and correspondence handled


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 3+ years of experience performing quality, training, and manufacturingservice activities.
  • Must be able to develop excellent working relationships with all levels of the organization in order to work through quality problems and staff to carry out corrective actions identified.
  • Abilitity to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience developing ISO standards; achieved and/or maintained ISO certification in a manufacturingfacility preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.


Preferred:

  • Associates degree or Certified Technical training (or international equivalent) in Engineering or related field.
  • Quality certification.
