Job Description:

Primary purpose of the role: Ensure the quality of the products through daily line audits to effectively meet or exceed standards set by MSI Express, the customer, and federal and state compliance. The role involves performing core requirements to adhere to customer specifications regarding process and finished product checks. The Quality Technician is responsible for approving batches to run and monitoring that these core checks are performed correctly.

Key Accountabilities:

• Approve and correct batches using basic lab techniques, including the use of testing equipment and mathematical calculations.
• Perform lab checks following clearly defined SOPs, monitoring specified items meticulously.
• Conduct pre-operations and Preventive Control (PC) checks.
• Notify supervisors or appropriate personnel of any non-compliance issues, completing tasks as per SOPs.
• Perform analytical tests such as VC, Salt, Brix, pH, DS meter, TA, Vit C, comparing batches against controls and conducting sensory audits.
• Perform physical testing of raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with customer procedures.
• Conduct special audits for raw materials or products on hold as needed.
• Maintain responsibility for Food Safety and Quality within their influence, reporting issues promptly to authorized personnel.
• Follow all company policies, including manufacturing and safety practices.
• Coach production associates on line data collection procedures.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by management.

Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to work overtime as necessary.
• Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, climb, or sit for extended periods.
• Proper eye, hand, and foot coordination to operate equipment and tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Pass all company testing requirements.
• Follow written instructions effectively.
• Basic computer skills.
• Effective reading and writing skills.
• Accurate and timely documentation of quality data.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
