Quality Technician I - 2nd Shift

Job Description:

Primary Purpose of the Role:

Ensure the quality of products through daily line audits to meet or exceed standards set by MSI Express, the customer, and federal and state compliance. Perform core requirements to adhere to customer specifications regarding process and finished product checks. Approve batches for production and monitor that core checks are performed.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Approve and correct batches using basic lab techniques, including testing equipment and calculations.
  • Perform lab checks according to Quality SOPs, monitoring specified items.
  • Conduct pre-ops and Preventive Control (PC) checks.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of noncompliance issues, following SOPs.
  • Perform analytical tests such as VC, Salt, Brix, pH, DS meter, TA, Vit C, compare batches against control, and sensory audits.
  • Physically test raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with customer procedures.
  • Conduct special audits for raw materials or products on hold as needed.
  • Report Food Safety and Quality issues promptly to responsible personnel.
  • Follow all company policies, including manufacturing and safety practices.
  • Coach production associates on data collection.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Follow work procedures and safety rules.
  • Stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, climb, or sit frequently or throughout the shift.
  • Coordinate eye, hand, and foot movements to operate equipment and tools properly.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Pass all company testing.
  • Follow written instructions.
  • Possess basic computer skills.
  • Read and write effectively.
  • Process quality documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate effectively.
