Job summary

Corning seeks a strong Quality Leader to head a team at the Trivium facility, ensuring sustained quality management and continuous improvement. You will collaborate with Process Engineering, Technology, and Product Line Management to meet Critical to Quality requirements and drive product quality architecture.

This role focuses on solving complex quality challenges in a manufacturing environment, developing people, and delivering measurable improvements in supplier and process performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or other relevant technical discipline
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment or technical leadership role in the military
• Demonstrated track record of delivering results
• Broad experience across manufacturing and engineering functions
• Experience leading projects from scope definition through implementation
• Experience coaching and developing junior engineers and technicians
• Knowledge of ISO or TL quality system fundamentals and audits
• Experience with data acquisition, consolidation, and analysis
• Familiarity with product specifications and measurement systems
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in problem solving and follow-through on quality issues impacting manufacturing
• Coach and oversee team members in daily responsibilities and longer-term objectives
• Identify development opportunities and support growth plans
• Partner with Technology and Engineering on product enhancements and transfers
• Lead the team to understand internal and external customer needs and improve plant quality systems
• Execute and implement the Product Quality Architecture strategy
• Engage with leadership on quality performance and structured problem solving
• Lead efforts to reduce customer returns and notifications through corrective actions
• Ensure Quality Management System aligns with TL9000 requirements
• Oversee incoming inspection, calibration systems, and optical test equipment support
