The York site of BAE Systems, supporting Combat Mission Systems, is seeking a Quality Supervisor for the 2nd Shift. This role involves leading the support of Receiving Inspection activities during the 2nd shift. The Quality Supervisor will lead, direct, and train the Quality Inspectors, including Visual Inspection (QIVI) bargaining unit and salaried staff. Responsibilities include overseeing inspection processes, receipt transactions, and protocols, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement (CI), developing programs, and leading training for A3 projects and Kaizen events. The role also requires maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring shift metrics, quality requirements, and protocols are met.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Typically requires a high school diploma and eight years of related experience, or an associate's degree and six years of related experience, or the equivalent;
  • Prior experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role;
  • Experience operating within the ISO 9001 standard;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical ability;
  • Background in problem-solving techniques (A3, DMAIC, etc);
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications;
  • Experience leading a team in a bargaining unit / union environment;
  • Ability to provide collaborative training, mentoring, and coaching;
  • Flexibility to support 2nd shift hours and overtime as needed.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • ASQ Certification;
  • Experience managing a quality program supporting government contracts, preferably DoD;
  • Formal training in root cause analysis;
  • Experience implementing APQP in a low-rate, technically complex product environment.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $73,778 - $125,422

Note: This range is based on market pay structures. Salaries depend on factors such as business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications.
