Job Overview
The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for leading the 2nd Shift Production Team to meet daily production goals and ensure on-time delivery of customer orders. The role involves assembling medical devices using hand and power tools, fixtures, work instructions, and test equipment, while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and guide the shift team to meet operational and quality requirements, managing staffing to fulfill customer demand and production schedules.
- Complete production and quality documentation, review job travelers, and verify weekly cleaning logs.
- Escalate issues related to quality, processes, equipment, materials, or labor.
- Collaborate with technicians, engineering, and warehouse staff to resolve issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities, and coordinate employee training to ensure compliance with procedures and quality standards.
- Assist with employee performance reviews and maintain organized work areas.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; relevant experience preferred.
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a medical device or similar environment is desirable.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, instructions, and manuals.
- Basic computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office and lean tools is a plus.
