Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions is seeking a Quality and Safety Manager in New Jersey to lead the quality system at a high-volume facility and serve as Safety Manager. You will drive SPC-based process improvements, PFMEA, control plans, and Lean initiatives while mentoring the Quality team and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will work closely with operations to prevent defects, investigate customer inquiries, and implement permanent corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Health & Safety or Business Management.
• Minimum 5 years of quality experience in a high volume fast-paced manufacturing operation.
• Experience with preventive quality engineering techniques such as PFMEA, control plans, process mapping.
• Involvement with and/or leading EHS-related items or projects.
• OSHA30 certification a plus; Lean manufacturing practices knowledge; Six Sigma Green Belt a plus.
• Previous supervisory experience and strong problem-solving skills; MS Office experience.

Responsibilities

• Implements SPC and measurement analysis to drive process improvement.
• Defines projects using PFMEA, process flow mapping, control plans and capability analysis.
• Aligns CoQ metrics with strategic initiatives (scrap, rework, returns, appraisal, prevention).
• Implements continuous improvement tools and leads Lean initiatives to improve profitability and workflow.
• Improves quality systems and teaches Lean tools like 5S, Kaizen, quick changeover, value stream mapping.
• Participates in Kaizen events; interacts with production floor daily to support efficiency goals.
• Reviews KPIs and drives permanent corrective actions; leads the Quality team daily.
• Manages HFI system; communicates HFIs and investigates customer quality inquiries.
• Works with Operations on root-cause analysis and corrective actions; audits the plant quality system.
• Leads monthly Quality Management Review; prepares month-end quality reports for plant/corporate.
• Ensures OSHA, USEPA and state regulatory compliance; tracks health and safety training; travels as needed.
