Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Quality Manager for our Structured Cabling group. This role will lead, monitor, and analyze the quality system across projects, ensuring corrective actions and risk mitigation. Location is TBD with 100% travel on a rotational basis (3-4 weeks on site, ~1 week at home).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years in design/engineering/construction industry, heavy industry, utilities or renewables.
• 1+ year leading a project or facility quality system or incident management.
• Knowledge of quality systems (e.g., Baldridge, ISO 9000, Lean, Kaizen, TQM).
• Strong communication and collaboration across internal/external audiences.
• Proven leadership of diverse teams.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, development, and implementation of the Quality Management Plan across the operating group.
• Develop, assess, and report quality performance metrics and analyze trends.
• Manage Quality Events and corrective actions.
• Drive a performance-based culture and foster a healthy team environment.
• Coach team member learning and development in Quality.
• Lead project Quality Assessments and train others.
• Collaborate with Quality leaders to implement the Quality System.
• Support training for general Quality processes (Electrical, etc.).
• Assist adjacent teams in Quality management during design and construction.
• Monitor industry trends for best practices and risks to update the Quality Management System.
