Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Quality Engineer II for the Structured Cabling group. The role involves coaching project teams on Mortenson’s Quality system, managing quality performance, and recommending improvements.

The position requires 100% travel (3–4 weeks on site, ~1 week at home) with location TBD. Responsibilities include leading Quality kick-offs, training modules, developing Quality Plans with PMs and field teams, and ensuring NCRs, RFIs, and submittals comply with contract documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (CM/CE/EE/ME/IE) or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in design, engineering, construction or telecommunications.
• Knowledge of quality systems (e.g., Baldrige, ISO 9000, Lean, Kaizen, TQM).
• Understanding of EPC (Engineer-Procure-Construct) processes.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead project Quality kick-offs and training modules.
• Develop and implement project Quality Plans and turnover requirements.
• Manage NCRs, RFIs, and submittals within project teams.
• Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
• Support operating group quality initiatives and project execution.
