Job summary

ALPLA, a global leader in sustainable packaging, seeks a QA Manager for the Iowa plant to oversee quality systems, lead audits, ensure ISO 9001 and food safety compliance, and drive continuous improvement with operations and customers.

You will manage the quality team, maintain documentation, and report metrics. A 4-year STEM degree and 5+ years QA in manufacturing are expected; strong collaboration and accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in STEM/technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with physical lab testing equipment; CMM preferred.
• At least 5 years of QA experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment with customer engagement.
• Proficient with Excel, SPC software, Word, PowerPoint.
• Intermediate to advanced statistical knowledge; ability to work with other departments.
• Ability to manage Customer Relations.
• Able to handle a multi-task environment with excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal, customer, and certification audits with timely closure of findings.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, FSSC 22000 and other standards as required.
• Serve as HACCP lead or risk mitigation program practitioner; support change management.
• Monthly reporting of quality and food safety data per procedures; drive improvements.
• Maintain document management system and standardize plant quality documentation.
• Oversee plant quality control program including equipment calibration and data integrity.
• Train and qualify personnel performing quality testing; support Quality Supervisor.
