JOB SUMMARY
This position provides assistance to Lincolnton’s Quality Systems and Manufacturing processes. It is a leadership role requiring the ability to determine conformance to Product Specifications, Engineering Drawings, or other accept/reject criteria. Responsibilities include responding to quality notifications, evaluating first and last shots, supporting project teams, addressing out-of-control issues, and managing change control through quality processes. The role also involves adherence to plant certifications such as ISO 9001:2000 and SQF.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect, test, and accept or reject finished products based on written specifications, parameters, or guidelines established by company procedures and trained by the Operations – Quality Engineer.
- Document all inspection/test results and non-conformances, recommending solutions as needed.
- Participate in identifying, investigating, and processing Corrective/Preventive Actions, Customer Complaints, Non-Conformance reports, Deviations, and Returned Goods Authorizations.
- Support the implementation of process specifications, statistical process controls, computerized data systems, and test equipment, including training and procedural support on the shop floor and in the lab.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement teams, become trained as Lead Auditor, conduct audits, issue corrective actions, and follow up on their effectiveness.
- Support QA team members on defect awareness, inspection methods, and specifications requirements.
- Act as a shift leader.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- High School diploma or GED
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in computer data entry and editing, with the ability to learn departmental software
- Ability to work independently, resolve conflicts, and ensure customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic and trigonometry
- Experience running CMM programs and using the RAM
- Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, leak and drop gages, and optical comparators
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in a lab setting within an ISO or cGMP manufacturing environment
- Ability to distinguish colors and pass the EnChroma test for color blindness
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills
- Ability to assist with root cause analysis and implement preventative actions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Physical ability to lift/move/push at least 30 pounds and reach above shoulder height
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and Windows OS
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of plant Quality Control processes and quality philosophies
- Understanding of SPC, injection molding, assembly, and packaging processes
- Knowledge of the Food and Beverage industry is a plus
- Physical stamina to stand for a 12-hour shift and perform manual tasks
