Summary/Objectives: The Senior Quality Technician - Laboratory position is responsible for managing the quality lab and its activities. Perform dimensional analysis on new production parts and analyze part capability during production cycles.

Manage calibration activities for gauges, as well as validations of product, fixtures, and tooling for engineering and manufacturing departments. Oversee quality workload activities to meet engineering, production, and customer requirements.

Essential Functions

1. Manage all lab activities and workload requests.
2. Maintain the Lab Scope and calibration manual for the North Carolina Lab, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant.
3. Support the APQP Launch team by reviewing customer prints for quality requirements and interpreting engineering drawings.
4. Manage validation processes for fixtures and tooling, including documentation.
5. Provide training and guidance to Quality and Production employees.
6. Participate in process improvement projects to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve product performance.
7. Determine process capability for developed processes.
8. Manage the calibration system, perform calibrations, record results, and maintain lab and equipment cleanliness.
9. Validate new parts and process changes, perform dimensional inspections using CMM/PC DMIS and Polyworks.
10. Perform annual layouts as required.
11. Conduct tests at various production stages for dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.
12. Operate diagnostic equipment as needed.
13. Complete paperwork accurately and timely.
14. Communicate with other departments as necessary.
15. Adhere to company rules and policies.
16. Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Manager.
17. Key performance metrics include on-time calibration, resolving past due calibrations, timely PPAP submissions, tooling/fixture validations, annual layouts, and asset management.
