Job summary

Surestaff, LLC is hiring a detail-oriented Quality Inspector for a metal manufacturing operation in Mundelein, IL. The role focuses on ensuring production quality by enforcing manufacturing practices, validating processes, and providing necessary documentation.

1st shift 6am-2:30pm or 2nd shift 2:30pm-11pm with overtime as needed. Temp-to-hire opportunities available with competitive $19-$26/hr wages and benefits including health/dental/vision insurance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of close/tight tolerance mechanical inspection experience.
• Experience with handheld gauges (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Metal stamping/fabrication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production to ensure complete documentation.
• Inspect/test materials, equipment, and processes for quality.
• Investigate and resolve product or production issues.
• Assist with corrective actions and process improvements.
• Read and interpret blueprints; know critical/major/minor characteristics.
• Measure parts against print specifications and document inspections.
• Inspect first part against measurements and verify tolerance.

Job description

SURESTAFF is immediately hiring for a detail-oriented Quality Inspector for a metal manufacturing company in Mundelein, IL. A successful Quality Inspector assures the consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing manufacturing practices and systems, validating processes, and providing necessary documentation to ensure quality excellence. SURESTAFF is invested in their team members! All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation ($19-$26/HR depending on experience and shift) as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision).

Available shifts and pay

• 1st shift: 6am-2:30pm
• 2nd shift: 2:30pm-11pm

Overtime is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production to ensure all documentation is complete.
• Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality standards are met.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve product or production related issues.
• Assist with developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and know definitions of critical, major, minor characteristics.
• Able to measure parts and determine if they are meeting print specifications. Inspect first part against each measurement as indicated on print. Verify acceptable tolerance. Indicate completed inspection on corresponding inspection record.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience performing close/tight tolerance mechanical inspection preferred.
• Experience with handheld gauges, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, thread gages, etc.
• Able to read blue prints.
• Metal stamping/fabrication experience preferred.
