Qualifications

Job description

SURESTAFF is hiring a Production Supervisor for a large client in Niles, IL. The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing daily operations on the production floor. The ideal candidate will ensure production targets are consistently met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. The Production Supervisor will lead a team of operators and technicians, coordinate workflows, and be responsible for training and development, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. SURESTAFF is invested in their team members! All temp to hire employees are offered competitive compensation ($35/hr.) as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Available shift: 1st shift, 6:00am-5:30pm.

Responsibilities of the Production Supervisor:

• Oversee daily production processes from start to finish, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently.
• Lead, train, and mentor production staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and growth.
• Monitor production quality and ensure compliance with food safety standards, including USDA and FDA regulations. Conduct regular inspections and audits to guarantee product integrity.
• Develop and maintain production schedules to optimize productivity, manage inventory levels, and meet customer demand.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity, working closely with the management team.
• Promote and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and company policies. Conduct safety training and lead safety meetings.
• Track and analyze production metrics, prepare reports for management on trends, issues, and recommendations for improvement.
• Address production issues and equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Supply Chain, to support overall company objectives.

Qualifications of the Production Supervisor:

• A high school diploma, GDE, or completion of a technical program in a related field is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a production supervision role, ideally within the food manufacturing industry.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and best practices, including lean manufacturing principles.
• Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively at all organizational levels.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and production management software.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and quality assurance standards in food production.
• Bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish.
