Job summary

SURESTAFF is immediately hiring a Machine Operator in Itasca, IL to operate automated production equipment and ensure quality products. The role includes 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm) with overtime on a first-come, first-serve basis and a benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance.

Responsibilities include machine setup, read and apply production specs, perform quality tests, and address defects. Lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods are required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is essential.
• Flexibility to work overtime and extra shifts as needed.
• Experience reading/interpretation of production specifications is a plus.
• Previous experience in production/manufacturing or machine operation.

• Prepare machine for production by positioning and securing dies, stops, guides, and turntables.
• Safely operate thermoforming equipment to produce quality products.
• Read job specifications and previous run data to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Ensure job is in order prior to machine set-up.
• Perform required quality testing on products produced (burst test, drop test, water table test, etc.).
• Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions and correct as needed.
• Stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds during shift.

Job description

SURESTAFF is immediately hiring Machine Operators for a client in Itasca, IL. The Machine Operator is responsible for operating automated and semi-automated production equipment to create and manufacture finished products. SURESTAFF is invested in their team members! All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation ($19/hr) as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Available shifts include: 2nd shift: 3pm-11:30pm Overtime is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Responsibilities of the Machine Operator:

• Prepare machine for production by positioning and securing dies, stops, guides, and turntables.
• Safely and effectively operates thermoforming equipment to produce quality product.
• Reads job specifications and previous run data (if available) to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Ensures job is in order prior to machine set-up.
• Performs required quality testing on products produced.
• Performs required quality testing on products produced, i.e. burst test, drop test, water table test, etc.
• Observes machine operation to detect piece defects or machine malfunction.
• Makes corrections to alleviate out of specification product.
• Position will entail standing for long periods of the day and lifting up to 50 pounds during shift.

Required Qualifications of the Machine Operator:

• Previous experience in production, manufacturing, assembling, and/or machine operating.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is essential.
• Flexibility to work overtime and extra shifts as needed.
• Experience reading and interpreting production specifications a plus.
