Job summary

Surestaff, LLC is seeking a CNC Machine Operator in Carol Stream, IL. The role involves safe operation of CNC equipment, basic inspections, and maintaining workflow. You will read prints, follow control plans, and document production data while collaborating with supervisors and quality staff.

Temp-to-hire with competitive pay and benefits. Shifts include 1st and 2nd, location in Carol Stream, IL. Prior machining experience and basic math skills are preferred to support ongoing efficiency

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating production machinery.
• Must be proficient in basic math.
• Experience using gauges and calipers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules and PPE requirements.
• Learn and perform basic CNC operation under supervision.
• Load/unload materials, identify jobs, and maintain part flow.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and visual inspections with basic measuring tools.
• Read and follow prints, control plans, quality alerts, and standard work documents.
• Record production, inspection, downtime, and other information accurately.
• Communicate with supervisor, trainer, quality personnel, and other operators.
• Support continuous improvement activities and training.

Job description

Responsibilities of the CNC Machine Operator:

• Follow all company safety rules, required personal protective equipment requirements, and department work instructions.
• Learn and perform basic CNC machine operation under the direction of a qualified trainer, lead, or supervisor.
• Load and unload material or parts, identify jobs and containers, and maintain proper part flow through the operation.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and visual inspections using basic measuring tools and documented inspection instructions.
• Recognize and report defects, abnormal machine conditions, tool wear, or process concerns before nonconforming product moves forward.
• Read and follow basic prints, job packets, control plans, quality alerts, and standard work documents as training progresses.
• Keep the machine, work area, tools, and material organized and clean; complete routine housekeeping and scrap separation.
• Record production, inspection, downtime, and other required information accurately and on time.
• Communicate clearly with the supervisor, trainer, quality personnel, and other operators regarding safety, quality, and production issues.
• Support continuous improvement activities and additional training as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications of the CNC Machine Operator:

• Previous experience using production machinery
• Must possess strong basic math skills
• Proven history of working with gauges and calipers

All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation ($18-$22/hr) as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Available shifts include: 1st and 2nd shift. Location: Carol Stream, IL.
