Qualifications

• Experience inspecting PCB assemblies in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications and engineering drawings.
• Eye exam with 20/20 vision is required.
• Ability to sit for long periods and walk throughout production areas.
• Familiarity with IPC Standards and AS9100 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct visual and manual inspections of incoming, in-process, and finished PCBs and components to detect defects.
• Use calipers, height gauges, micrometers, and VMMS to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Operate testing equipment and ensure calibration of measurement tools.
• Review blueprints and customer drawings to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Document results, defects, and yield data in logs or systems.
• Identify non-conforming material and segregate for disposition.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to identify root causes and improvements.
• Prepare standard reports such as First Article Inspection reports; ensure documentation is complete.
• Perform minor rework as needed (e.g., mask touch-up).

Job description

SURESTAFF is immediately hiring for a detail-oriented Quality Inspector for an aerospace company in Plano TX. A successful Quality Inspector should have excellent troubleshooting skills, have experience inspecting product in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment, and be able to ensure that product consistently meets quality standards and guidelines.

All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation $18 as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Generous referral bonuses are available upon hire. Available shifts include 7am-4:30pm Monday-Friday. Overtime is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Responsibilities of the Quality Inspector

• Conduct inspections – perform visual and manual inspections of incoming, in-process, and finished PCBs and components to check for defects against company and industry standards (e.g. IPC Standards, AS9100).
• Utilize measurement tools – Use various tools like calipers, height gauges, micrometers, and vision measuring machines (VMMS) to ensure components meet specified dimensions and tolerances.
• Operate testing equipment – Work with automated testing equipment (ATE) and ensure the accuracy and calibration of all testing equipment and measurement tools.
• Review documentation – Examine blueprints, specifications, and customer drawings to verify that finished products comply with all requirements.
• Document findings – Record inspection results, defects, and yield data in logs or electronic information systems.
• Manage non-conforming material – Identify, segregate, and document non-conforming products to prevent them from being shipped and assist in the disposition process.
• Collaborate on improvements – work with production and quality teams to identify root causes of defects, implement corrective actions, and suggest improvements to the manufacturing process.
• Prepare reports – Complete standard reports, such as First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, and verify that all necessary certifications and documentation are accurate and complete.
• Perform rework – Conduct minor rework as needed, which may include tasks like mask touch-up.

Required Qualifications of the Quality Inspector

• Hands on Experience in SMT/Through Hole Circuit Board assembly production, engineering or quality assurance required.
• Employees are required to have an eye exam for this position. 20/20 vision (with glasses or contacts if needed) is required and must be able to see colors.
• Must have an ability to sit for long periods in meetings.
• Must be able to walk for long distances throughout the production and office areas.
• Must be able to read, interpret and consistently follow drawings, engineering specifications, floor manufacturing procedures, customer specifications, data packs and workmanship quality standards.
