Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Quality Engineering Specialist in Santa Ana to join Core Technology. You will monitor, inspect, and propose measures to correct or improve final products to meet quality standards. You will be embedded in manufacturing, supporting rapid execution of statements of work with strong ownership.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in a relevant fields, or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or a quality/engineering related role
• Experience in a manufacturing environment supporting HW development and quality management
• Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software and inspection data management software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Experience with calibrated equipment (calipers, micrometers, CMM, Faro arm, OMM, etc.)
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings (wire diagrams, work instructions, CAD)
• Experience using investigative equipment such as x-ray inspection, digital characterization, material certificate of compliance, etc.
• Experience in a facility with AS9100, ISO9001, IATF 16949 or similar QMS standard
• Experience with validation and testing assemblies and their components
• Experience with communicating with suppliers and cross functional teams
• Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance

Responsibilities

• Manage the site Materials Review Board (MRB) process.
• Be embedded within manufacturing to provide resolution, containment, and improvement to nonconforming materials.
• Review Manufacturing Work Instructions and provide feedback.
• Support in providing clarification or go/no-go decisions to inspectors.
• Lead containment of nonconforming items including inspecting to verify non-conforming parts.
• Assist in root cause analysis and manage internal triage with engineering teams for nonconformance dispositions.
• Ensure data collection and entry is accurate for MRB.
• Communicate process performance and quality issues to stakeholders to drive improvements.
• Track and report MRB metrics weekly.
• Execute vendor RMA with Warehouse and Buyers to move material from MRB to suppliers.
• Manage quality containment for material, tooling, and inspection equipment involved in non-conformances.
• Create inspection plans for incoming, in-process, and end-of-line inspection per product quality engineers.
• Train technicians and inspectors to perform inspection plans and data capture.
• Propose and implement quality assurance policies and procedures; review with product quality engineers.
• Review continuous improvement projects for productivity and quality gains.
• Perform internal audits on processes and procedures as directed.
• Deep dive into data and traceability to identify trends and variations.
• Stay current with new inspection technologies and propose process improvements.
