Cleveland-Cliffs invites motivated students to join its internship program in Butler, PA as a Quality Engineering Intern. You will work with metallurgy and lab teams to support safety, testing, and process improvements on real production challenges.

You'll gain hands-on experience in lab management, data analysis, and participate in calibration and testing workflows while exploring potential for future full-time opportunities within the company.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in Bachelor of Science program in the field of Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemistry, or other related technical degree.
• Completion of at least sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsabilités

• Complete monthly safety inspections and safety observations for the Metallurgical Department.
• Work safely and assure plant safety policies are followed.
• Manage workflow in the mechanical and chemical test lab.
• Manage test equipment calibrations.
• Create new operating efficiencies to maintain the production, testing, and shipping of steel with a leaner workforce.
• Maintain Steelmaking spectrometer lab, calibration, and on-call support.
• Responsible for data-mining investigations with metallurgical grade performance, chemistry, scrap charges, etc.
• Responsible for Metallurgical grade maintenance and development.
• Manage 3rd party testing inspection.
• Maintain tracking of Steelmaking scrap, referral, and diversions.
• Responsible for Metallurgical investigations.

Formation

Bachelor of Science in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemistry, or related technical degree
