Qualifications

• BP/BS-level materials science or metallurgy related degree pursued, sophomore year by summer 2027.
• Ability to complete monthly safety inspections and follow plant safety policies.
• Interest in metallurgical testing, data analysis, and lab operations.

Responsibilities

• Complete monthly safety inspections and safety observations for Metallurgical Department.
• Manage workflow in the mechanical and chemical test lab.
• Handle test equipment calibrations and spectrometer lab maintenance.
• Conduct data-mining investigations on metallurgical data and scrap trends.
• Support 3rd party testing and track steelmaking scrap/diversions.
