Job summary

Atkore in Kokomo, IN is seeking a Quality Engineer to monitor product quality, analyze defects, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with quality standards on the shop floor. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will lead continuous improvement, drive Lean within Atkore’s system, and participate in project teams to reduce waste and improve process capability.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering with 1–3 years in manufacturing is required; Lean

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 1–3 years of manufacturing experience
• Thorough understanding and practical application of APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, and FMEA
• Knowledge of SPC, Cp/Cpk, Gauge R&R, gage calibration, and ISO 9001 quality standards
• Strong data analytics and computer skills; proficient in Windows applications
• Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical abilities

Responsibilities

• Facilitate & participate in concept brainstorming & ideation sessions.
• Work as a hands-on engineer related to design, material, or process.
• Solve complex problems and make sound design recommendations.
• Provide technical assistance for troubleshooting and diagnosing quality problems.
• Create Standard Work documents and help maintain the Controlled Document system.
• Lead projects across the department as needed.
• Research future concepts and monitor technology trends.
• Drive Lean Methodology within the Atkore Business System.
• Within 3 months: complete immersion and build stakeholder relationships.
• Within 6 months: understand current Quality Procedures and identify improvements.
• Within 12 months: create/update Work Instructions and lead lean initiatives.
