Job summary

Atkore International Kokomo, IN is seeking a Quality Technician for 1st shift (7:00 am – 3:30 pm) to ensure quality parts are produced and nonconforming items are contained. You will perform first article measurements, document results, and support containment to prevent escapes.

Responsibilities emphasize 5S, lean practices, GD&T understanding, and reading customer specs. The role requires a high school diploma and 3+ years in quality inspections on the production floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; degree or technical degree preferred.
• 3+ years experience in quality inspections, measurement and spec/print reading.
• General understanding of SPC is a plus.
• Working knowledge of AS400 and/or JD Edwards is a plus.
• Read customer specs/prints and identify acceptance criteria.
• Operate and read measuring devices (tape measure, calipers, micrometer, digital protractor).
• Strong math skills; GD&T understanding.
• Safety oriented; team player with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Adherence to safety rules and life saving standards.
• Measure, inspect and document 1st article and ongoing production quality.
• Contain non-conforming parts to prevent escapes.
• Label finished goods and identify suspect/defective product.
• Ensure customer packaging requirements are met.
• Walk production floor and perform inspections (up to 50 lbs).
• All duties as instructed by supervision.
