Job summary

Lycoming Engines, a Textron Systems company, offers a hands-on internship in quality engineering where you’ll engage in real projects and mentored development. You will assist in quality planning, inspections, and process improvements while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role targets students pursuing or having completed an Engineering degree, with exposure to statistics and strong communication skills. This is a full-time internship at Lycoming Engines in Williamsport, PA.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of statistical techniques and applications
• Ability to organize and prioritize assigned tasks
• Effective written and oral communication skills, good interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Performing quality planning activities including development of Quality Plan, Quality Assurance Directive and Inspection Plan documents as required by the assigned project(s).
• Reviewing customer contracts; responsible for requirements analysis, identification and definition
• Interfaces with Supplier Quality Engineering to provide guidance and support for supplier issues
• Uses knowledge of inspection tools and techniques to define inspection requirements
• Participates in process improvement activities through monitoring, root cause investigations, auditing, failure analysis
• Participates in design document reviews and assists in developing fabrication/build processes and standards
• Interfaces with internal organizations and systems in performance of the assigned Quality Engineering functions.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
