Job summary

Lycoming Engines, a Textron Systems brand, offers a 10-week paid internship focused on Industrial Engineering in Williamsport. The intern will study productivity strategies, support scheduling, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives while working under experienced supervisors.

As part of Textron, you’ll gain hands-on experience with real projects, mentorship, and opportunities to develop manufacturing and process improvement skills relevant to aerospace production.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of blueprints including a working knowledge of GD&T.
• Knowledge of CAD.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of process improvement methodologies including machine capability and process control.

Responsibilities

• Learn to summarize, by significant categories, issue that affected manufacturing activity to Production supervisor.
• Learn to develop crew load/shop load plans and reports.
• Learn to estimated time value or standard in appropriate electronic systems.
• Learn to provide schedule variance figures to manufacturing and assist in Performance reports (weekly) explanations.
• Learn to implement cost reduction ideas (Method Improvements).
• Learn to provide Weekly Activity reports.
• Ensure visual factory information is always current.
• Time standards applications
• Schedule and cost analysis
• Manpower justification
• Manufacturing cost savings
