Job summary

Apogee Architectural Metals is offering Summer 2027 internship opportunities in Louisville, KY, Cincinnati, OH, and other locations. Interns will gain hands-on project experience, mentorship, and exposure to manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

We seek students in Manufacturing/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering with a 3.0 GPA or higher, who are eager to learn, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and contribute to real projects on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field.
• Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing at the time of the internship.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Interest in manufacturing and hands‑on engineering work.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively with engineering, production, maintenance, and quality teams.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and spending time on the production floor.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Work with quality, engineering, and production teams on real projects.
• Spend time on the manufacturing floor learning processes, equipment, and operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues.
• Collect and analyze production data.
• Support process improvement, equipment, tooling, and layout projects.
• Assist with time studies, process documentation, and work instructions.
• Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Help implement engineering solutions and see projects through to completion.
