Job summary

Branex Group is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our automotive-focused quality team in Livonia, MI. You will collaborate with the Quality Manager to manage day-to-day quality issues, customer concerns, and supplier quality, driving continuous improvement across programs.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, strong communication with customers and suppliers, and the ability to lead corrective actions including 8D, PPAP, PFMEA, and control plans, while ensuring IATF 16949

Qualifications

• 5+ years of automotive quality/manufacturing experience.
• Strong knowledge of APQP and automotive quality requirements.
• Experience with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
• Experience with PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and 8D.
• Strong customer-facing communication and supplier quality management skills.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team and work closely with the Quality Manager. This person will be a key part of the quality team and will help manage day-to-day quality issues, customer concerns, supplier quality, and continuous improvement.

The right candidate will have strong automotive quality experience, good people skills, and the ability to work directly with customers and suppliers. This is a hands‑on position for someone who can identify problems, find solutions, and follow through to make sure issues are properly resolved.

Responsibilities

• Support the Quality Manager and act as a key resource for quality-related issues.
• Lead and support APQP activities for new and existing programs.
• Work with customers on quality issues, concerns, and corrective actions.
• Travel to customer plants when needed to help troubleshoot and resolve quality issues.
• Work with suppliers to address quality problems and drive corrective actions.
• Hold suppliers accountable to company and customer quality requirements.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective action activities, including 8D and other problem-solving methods.
• Support PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and other automotive quality requirements.
• Help prepare for and participate in customer, supplier, and internal audits.
• Train and support employees on quality procedures and problem-solving techniques.
• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, and Purchasing to resolve quality issues.
• Help maintain compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and help drive them through completion.
• Build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Travel to customer and supplier locations as needed, primarily for day trips.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in automotive quality/manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of APQP and automotive quality requirements.
• Experience with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
• Experience with PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and 8D.
• Strong customer-facing experience and communication skills.
• Experience working with and managing supplier quality issues.
• Previous leadership, training, or mentoring experience.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions when dealing with quality issues.
• Comfortable working directly with customers and suppliers.
• Strong communication and people skills.
• Willingness to travel locally to customer and supplier facilities for day trips.
• Automotive industry experience required.
