Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Quality Engineering Specialist at the BlueOval Battery Park Michigan facility. You will ensure lithium-ion battery cells meet Ford quality and safety standards, monitor key process parameters, and lead CAPA investigations across winding, cell assembly, and electrolyte fill stages.

Responsibilities include leading containment, root cause analysis, implementing PFMEA/control plans, and driving quality improvements with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience in automotive quality, CAPA, FMEA, and process control is ideal.
• Strong knowledge of SPC and data-driven quality improvement methods.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to daily quality abnormalities; lead containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Monitor SPC, FAI, MES inspections, FIFO material control, error-proofing, rework, and equipment qualification for winding, cell assembly, and electrolyte fill stations.
• Manage change control (4M) and ensure effective control plans, PFMEA.
• Identify quality risks and drive preventive/corrective actions.
• Monitor, analyze, and report production quality performance metrics; implement corrective actions.
