Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks a Battery Cell Engineer to drive development and evaluation of next-gen cells for electric vehicles. The role partners with global suppliers, leads testing plans, and guides DFMEA/PFMEA in new cell designs.

You will own the cell tech roadmap, assess performance, cost, and safety, and collaborate with Purchasing and Supply Chain to shape sourcing strategies for scalable production.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Chemical Engineering or Materials Science or equivalent.
• 7+ years of battery cell experience in automotive contexts.
• Experience engaging with cell suppliers or startups on tech evaluation.
• Strong analytical and electrochemistry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Define next-gen cell technology roadmap and TRL/MRL tracking.
• Engage suppliers for joint development and capability reviews.
• Lead NPI testing plans and DFMEA/PFMEA collaboration.
• Drive cost and program management for next-gen cells.
• Support purchasing and supply chain with sourcing strategies.
